The tragic fire at The Glasgow School of Art on 23 May 2014 destroyed much-loved parts of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh building on Renfrew Street. On the day of the fire there was an enormous spike in the number of Google image searches and Wikipedia hits for the Mackintosh building.

As a GSA alumnus, Lizzie was one of those searching online to augment her own memories, but finding mostly images of the exterior of the building. This project was an attempt to gather as many interior photos of the building as possible from the students and faculty who had been using it since its completion in 1909.

The Loggia corridor and bay windows leading to the east of the building and the professors’ studios.
