Women’s Political Rights

April 2012
Project 38 / 38
next

For international women’s day in 2012 we made a map to visualise women’s political rights around the world from 1892 to present day. This includes a timeline showing when women won the right to vote, the right to stand for election, and when the first woman was elected to parliament. In addition we compiled a set of statistics per country that would speak to the current state of women’s political rights around the world.

The map was featured in the Guardian Data Blog and partially based on their data.
