Indygraph is a barometer that captured Twitter users’ feelings about the Scottish independence referendum in the month leading up to the vote on 18 September 2014.
Indygraph gathered around 4 million tweets containing referendum hashtags and balanced the barometer at 30-minute intervals to give an indication of which way the vote was leaning. It also correlated them to news items matching the search terms “independence”, “referendum” and “Scotland” on Google News; the weight of each headline relating to its reach on Twitter.
