Airwars monitors and assesses civilian harm in airpower-dominated conflicts. We have worked with them since 2018, and are responsible for their website an archive of civilian harm incidents that can be filtered and searched across a broad set of metadata.

The work began with a redesign of their CMS and database, with forms and fields built to correspond directly to their incident assessment process. It has since grown into a research tool that supports the full process of data collection, from logging sources and claims to geolocation and assessment, with published incidents flowing directly into the public archive.

The same data informs historical visualisations, as well as graphics and video materials that respond to current events.
