Flotilla Tracker

2025

Since 2025 we have worked with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and the Global Sumud Flotilla to track six coordinated, nonviolent missions sailing to break Israel’s illegal siege of Gaza. These included the single-boat voyages of the Conscience, Madleen and Handala, and the fleet missions of 2025 and 2026, the first of which numbered around 40 boats.

When AIS signals went dark during the Handala mission, we rebuilt the tracker around multiple sources. Each boat now carries a satellite GPS device, with AIS and phone-based tracking as fallbacks, all managed through a central system for missions, boats and devices. Positions are logged every few minutes, so the platform also works as an evidence record for journalists, researchers and legal cases following the interception and detention of crews.

In 2026 we redesigned the interface so that past missions can be archived and revisited.
